Biography Ian Lewis:

Ian started his Yoga practice in 1965 with Swami Bramachari Ji. He had the privilege of studying and learning from Swami Rudra Dev and Yogi Ashokananda. Two teachers and friends who have guided him through the path of Yoga have been Justin Herold and Emil Wendel. He has lived in India for more than 40 years studying in different schools and styles, among them the Iyengar Yoga in which he deepened for more than 20 years with BKS Iyengar, Prashant and Rudra Dev. Due to his long journey in the path of Hatha Yoga Ian has an in-depth knowledge of Pranayama, meditation and the development of asana practice.

Iyengar Yoga is a system of Yoga developed by BKS Iyengar, is a branch of Hatha Yoga that emphasizes detail, precision and alignment in posture (asana) and respiratory work (pranayama). The development of strength, mobility and stability is acquired through the practice of asana.

Often, elements such as belts, wooden blocks, blankets, etc. are used for the execution of different postures (asanas). These elements help the student to understand the different actions to gradually understand the complete posture, minimizing the risk of injury or stress, making it accessible to both young and old people.
